If you love the art of dance and enjoy sharp, brilliant choreography, then "Billy Elliot The Musical" is a show you can't miss. If you love wonderful music, inspiring storylines, drama, comedy and spectacular theater, then you must see "Billy Elliot."
Some have called "Billy Elliot" the best musical of the decade, and I'm inclined to agree - as long as you don't include "Wicked" in the competition.
"Billy Elliot The Musical" is a joyous celebration of one young boy's journey to make his dreams come true.
Based on the smash-hit film, "Billy Elliot The Musical" is brought to life by a phenomenal cast. I was fortunate to attend the opening night performance where Ty Forhan starred as Billy. Forhan is one impressively talented young man, as is the rest of the cast.
One of the most moving moments I've ever experienced in theater is the pas de deux between Billy and his older self. I dare you to watch it without holding your breath, or shedding a tear.
"Billy Elliot" plays the Pantages Theatre, 6233 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood through May 13. Showtimes: Tuesday through Friday 8 p.m.; Saturday 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
