Pro football: Herrick makes his German league debut

Valencia High graduate and California all-time prep passing yardage leader Michael Herrick's professional football career is underway.

The 23-year-old had a short night in his debut for the New Yorker Lions of the German Football League last Saturday.

He led the Lions to a 28-0 lead halfway through the second quarter and was 7-for-10 for 154 yards with two touchdown passes.

With the game in hand, he was removed early.

The Lions, who are based in Braunschweig in the north-central part of Germany, defeated the Milan Seamen 56-0 in Milan, Italy.

Herrick's team's next scheduled game is April 28.
