Starbucks employees could be seeing red soon - and not from the sea of holiday drinks surrounding them. Someone stole a laptop Oct. 29 containing private information about 97,000 Starbucks employees, according to a company news release. Keeping in step with other major companies that have experience a breach this year, Starbucks has informed their employees of the breach and offered them a free year of credit-monitoring services.
While credit-monitoring services will inform an employee if a problem should arise with their credit as a result of the breach, this will only occur after a thief has already used that employee's information.
