* A somber yet calm Esperanza Castro quietly sat in a San Fernando courtroom and listened to a translator explaining in Spanish the case presented against her by county Deputy District Attorney Paula Gonzales. Castro was accused of murdering her husband, Ramon, in 2006 and faced one charge of first-degree murder and conspiracy in the death of her husband.
