A Canyon Country man was sentenced to five years probation Monday after having pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

Daniel Donovan, 32, was charged with child molestation and possessing child pornography, according to the criminal complaint filed against him.

On Monday, he entered a plea of guilty in San Fernando Superior Court, a court clerk said.

Donovan was also sentenced to 340 days at a Los Angeles County jail. The judge gave Donovan credit for jailtime he had already been incarcerated.

Donovan was charged a year ago after videotaping a 12-year-old boy inside a College of the Canyons bathroom.

He was arrested after deputies found child pornography in his car, investigators with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said at the time of the arrest.
