Placerita Junior High School placed third at the High Desert Dance Classic in the Dancing Feet Youth Ballroom program held at Antelope Valley College on March 10.

The Dancing Feet Program is a youth ballroom program designed to teach seventh-grade students ballroom and Latin dances.

This was Placerita’s fourth year in the competition, and they joined the group of Antelope Valley schools participating in the program and competition.

Teachers Tammi Sucheck and Kristin Burrill instructed the team of 12 students.

The team consisted of Elida DeFazi and Jesus Islas-Trejo dancing the waltz, Sarah Moore and Adib Khoury dancing the tango, Kathy Gonzalez and Marlon Flores dancing the merengue, Paige McNabb and Romario Trinidad dancing the samba, and Valerie Serrano and Erick Pena dancing the cha cha with alternates Julianna Walker and Braeden McClain.
