“Snow White,” from the French cutting-edge dance company Ballet Preljocaj, will play the Chandler.

Ballet Preljocaj, a French cutting-edge dance company, will perform "Snow White" ("Blanche Neige") based on the Grimm Brothers' version of the fairy tale and set to Mahler symphonies at the Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on March 23, 24 and 25.

Angelin Preljocaj set the work on 25 dancers using the most beautiful scores of Gustav Mahler's symphonies. Jean Paul Gaultier designed the costumes and the set is by Thierry Leproust.

Out-of-the-ordinary and familiar at once, Ballet Preljocaj captures the essence of the Grimm Brothers' story with exquisite contemporary choreography.

This engagement is part of the first U.S. tour of the production.

"I was very keen to tell a story, offer something magical and enchanted. No doubt it was to avoid getting into a rut. And also because, like everyone, I love stories," Preljocaj said. "‘Snow White' is like a thriller and that makes it interesting to translate into dance."

"Ballet Preljocaj - Snow White" at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, 135 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Performance Schedule: 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24; Sunday, March 25 - 2 p.m. Tickets: $28 - $110.
