With regard to your editorial, “Station switch shouldn’t be only move,” the focus of our efforts has always been to increase the number of facilities that serve the city and unincorporated areas and reduce response times.
In addition to a regional sheriff’s station adjacent to the new courthouse in Castaic Junction, the county’s plan to enhance services includes continued discussions regarding additional sheriff’s stations located in the city to ensure the best possible coverage for every community and neighborhood.
As I expressed in my letter to the City Council, I remain committed to working with the city, the sheriff, the town councils and our residents to ensure the delivery of effective and quality law enforcement services for the residents of the Santa Clarita Valley.
