Feeling insecure about bullying

Daniel Cox

Grade 7

SCVi Charter School, Castaic

About 160 students miss school because of the intimidation of other students. At school, some types of bullying is personally witnessed which is about 56 percent of students. There are a lot of different types of bullying that can become a problem.

The first type of bullying is physical violence that can include hitting and kicking and other types of violence.

Another type is speaking to someone verbally: name-calling, insults, remarks, and teasing.

Then another type of bullying is indirect ,which is almost similar to cyber bullying. Only this type of bullying is spreading rumors and bad stories. Cyber bullying is about is posting videos or pictures on the Internet of the victim, and saying things that are hurtful and causing great sadness for the victim.

Sometimes bullying leads to the victim killing him or herself. Some suicides cause the death of children under 14.

In the first place, the reason that the bully is bullying another person is because his or her life might not be an average life. Some experiences that the bully may suffer about are poor mental health, school failure and poor relationships.

When kids are bullied, they feel awful pain and will sometimes become bullies themselves because they do not know what to do with the sadness they feel.

If the victim does something in response like fighting back at them, this makes a problem worse. This doesn’t make a difference at all, but sometimes even if the principal is told that the bully has been mean to the victim, but the principal doesn’t do anything at all.

The problem is when too many students are bullied, sometimes they do not tell the principal. The reason that some of the students don’t tell the principal is because it could start a fight.

Another reason is that the victim could be too scared to speak up.

The last reason is going to the principal sometimes means that the problem will still not be resolved.
