The Santa Clarita Storm has officially released its spring preseason schedule.

The men’s professional soccer team, which moved to Santa Clarita from Lancaster this past year, will play at least three preseason matches in March before the National Premier Soccer League season begins on April 7.

The Storm will play a two-game round-robin at UC Irvine on March 3, facing the host school and also the University of San Diego. On March 17, the Storm will play a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup qualifier against Fullerton Rangers at 6 p.m. at Canyon High School.

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is the United States Soccer Federation’s annual national championship tournament. Teams from all four levels of the United States soccer pyramid take part, from Major League Soccer, the top tier, to the NPSL, which is in the fourth tier.

If Santa Clarita beats Fullerton, it will face F.C. Hasental on March 24 at 4 p.m. at Hart High School. The winner of that match will be one of the two teams representing the NPSL’s Western Conference in the U.S. Open Cup.

The team is expected to release its regular season NPSL schedule in the coming weeks.
