A boy was hit by a car today near Rancho Pico Junior High School, but did not apparently suffer serious injury, a fire official said.

"We have it on our log that the child was not transferred to hospital," Inspector Brian Riley of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

Shortly after 3 p.m., a boy was hit by a car near the school, in the area of The Old Road and Valencia Boulevard, said Officer Andrew Furman of the California Highway Patrol.

"It looks like he suffered some sort of injury," Furman said. "As for the severity of that injury I couldn't tell you."
