College of the Canyons was named the recipient of two separate grants totaling nearly $300,000 for its nursing program.
The $124,939 two-year grant from the state allows the community college to establish a transition program for nursing students who are ready to graduate and need help to pass the NCLEX exam for their RN license. Another grant, worth $140,000 over two years, will pay for the salary and benefits of a nursing instructor.
