The Canyon freshman football team defeated Saugus Thursday 36-14.
The win gives Canyon a 4-1 record in the Foothill League and a claim of the championship.
Canyon running back Sean Hattlestad ran the ball 20 times for 159 yards. Cowboys quarterback Jonathan Jerozal threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns. He also had a rushing touchdown. Felipe Herrera caught six passes for 66 yards and Coley Aspay caught two touchdown passes. The third passing score went to Steven Naillieux.
Daniel Lee made two sacks and Hattlestad contributed 1.5.
