It was a bad weekend for bikers.

Two separate traffic collisions involving motorcyclists sent two bikers to  the hospital, one with serious injuries.

A third biker involved in one of the collisions was knocked to the ground but reportedly uninjured.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday, two motorcyclists collided with a truck at the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Flowerpark Drive, east of Sand Canyon Road, said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The truck was trying to make a left turn in front of the two motorcycles. Both (bikes) crashed,” he said. “One was essentially unhurt, but the other was taken to (Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial) Hospital with serious injuries.”

On Saturday, in a separate and unrelated traffic incident that happened at about 2:30 p.m., a motorcyclist lost control of his bike on a wet stretch of San Francisquito Canyon Road near Riverview Road, about two miles north of Copper Hill Drive.

“The recent rain got the road really slick,” said CHP Officer Andrew Mack.

“He was going along fine, under the speed limit, and then his bike started getting wobbly and he went down on his right side.”

The motorcyclist was taken to Henry Mayo with injuries not considered life-threatening, said an officer with the California Highway Patrol Sunday.

“He broke his upper arm,” Mack said.

“He’s got some road rash but he’s expected to be fine.”
