Rosedell Elementary School kids and members of the Fruit Smoothie Ninjas and Lego Donuts work on their Lego presentation during the recent Lego League Expo held at Legoland California in Carlsbad.

Rosedell Elementary School students recently participated in the Legoland Jr. Lego League Expo at the theme park.
The school had five teams of first-, second-, third- and fourth-graders to take part in the competition with a theme of food safety.
The teams had to study a particular food and then build a model out of Legos that explained how their chosen food was made and how to keep that food safe from contamination.
The teams then presented their models and a poster to judges and to other teams. The competition was meant to teach the children about science, technology, engineering and math.
