Waste Management has received a Keep America Beautiful grant worth $5,000 that will help establish recycling programs at elementary schools within the Saugus Union, Newhall and Sulphur Springs school districts.
Waste Management provided more than 500 recycling kits, which included recycling baskets for all the classrooms and “Green Your School” posters to remind students to recycle daily. In addition, an ongoing educational recycling program will be implemented throughout the schools in the three districts to ensure that future generations of students understand the importance of recycling.
The recycling program is being sponsored by a grant awarded to Waste Management of Santa Clarita through its corporate partnership with Keep America Beautiful. Keep America Beautiful is the nation’s largest volunteer-based community action and education organization.
