The children of Vera and Dean Martin are proud to announce the couple’s upcoming 40th wedding anniversary.

The Martins were married Feb. 12, 1972, at St. James Church in La Crescenta, having found new love together after the loss of their first spouses.

They enjoyed traveling the world together for many years, and they now travel the golf courses of Southern California, including their own Friendly Valley course in Santa Clarita with their Eager Beaver golf club family.

Vera is originally from Wisconsin, and Dean originally from North Dakota.

Dean’s first job was with the Civilian Conservation Corps, and he retired from CBS in 1987 after 39 years in broadcasting.

Vera’s first job was with InterOcean Steamship supporting two Navy Commanders, and she retired many years later after working at Bank of America and in tax preparation.

Upon retirement, Dean and Vera moved to Friendly Valley in the Santa Clarita Valley where they have lived for 25 years.

The joy of their lives is their family, including one daughter, five sons, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren (and one on the way), as well as sisters, brothers, and all the daughters and sons in-law.

“Their life-long unconditional love and devotion for each other and for family continues to inspire all of us.  We love you, Mom and Dad! Happy 40th “Ruby” anniversary,” wrote their family.
