We Are Americans - History and Art in Diverse Cultures - comes to William S. Hart Park this weekend. The County of Los Angeles, Department of Parks and Recreation, William S. Hart Park, presents its third annual Black History Month celebration. This celebration is anchored by the complete collection of Genesis Legacy Projects, historical displays of African American, Latin and Native Americans and their experiences in America.

This is an opportunity for artists in all medias to display art based on ethnic people in America; their cultures, images and historical themes. There is a simple "Drop-in format." All medias, no size restrictions, no fees and seven pieces maximum, framed or unframed. All art is welcomed with one single restriction, that the art must be deemed suitable for public display and not deemed obscene or offensive by the show's coordinators. The deadline for dropping off art is Friday, Feb. 3 (today) at 4 p.m.

Public Viewing of the art is Saturday, Feb. 4 and Sunday, Feb. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (There will be a participant potluck on Saturday at noon.) Admission is free to the public.

William S. Hart Park is located at 24151 Newhall Ave., Newhall, CA 91321. For information call (661) 259-1750.
