Jo Ann Vindigni recently was installed as president of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Health Foundation Holiday Home Tour League.
The all-volunteer organization, now in its 32nd year, raises funds for women’s services at the hospital through its annual Home Tour, Gala and Boutique.
For the last four years, the Home Tour’s efforts have helped to fund the newly opened neonatal intensive care unit at Henry Mayo.
Installed at an afternoon luncheon at The Tea Gardens in Saugus were Jo Ann Vindigni, Vice President-membership Oriana John, Treasurer Debra Weyand,  Recording Secretary Barbara Dinius and Corresponding Secretary Barbara Larsen.
Outgoing President Barbara Sanguinetti served as installing officer.
“We worked very hard to bring the Home Tour back to public notice in the Santa Clarita Valley this year,” Sanguinetti said. “We did very well, and it’s because of everyone in this room. You are all so important to this cause.”
Sanguinetti presented each of the incoming officers with a teacup, to reflect the installation’s “tea” theme. In addition, she passed the president’s gavel to Vindigni.
“I want to quote Eleanor Roosevelt. ‘A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she gets in hot water,’” said Sanguinetti. “She said what we all know is true, women are strong, resilient, caring, loving, comforting, that sums up a woman.”
Vindigni said she looked forward to the year ahead.
“I hope everyone is ready to hit the ground running, I have some new ideas and I look forward to raising some serious money for Henry Mayo,” she said.
Vindigni presented Sanguinetti a gift in appreciation for her two years of service as Home Tour League president.
