Protesters are not the violent ones

The protest violence that has erupted has been instigated by supporters of Proposition 8.

Two of my friends were arrested Thursday afternoon after they tried to help a protester who was punched in the face by a Proposition 8 supporter.

They weren't fighting back; they were simply trying to stop the bloodied nose of the protester and were wrongfully arrested.

What happened to them is wrong, and I'm very upset that some of these letters say it's all the protesters that are being violent.

It was the Mormons who came out of their church and began tearing down signs and getting in the faces of protesters.

Stop placing the blame on the people who want equal rights, and pay attention to what is really going on during these protests.

These protests have been peaceful; there were only a few instances of violence.

None of them was started by the protesters.

They were started by either Proposition 8 supporters, or people who came out later in the evening just to start problems.

From now on, please, I want everyone to really listen to the news reports, and stop being so quick to place blame on the people protesting.
