Monday is the Lunar New Year, otherwise known as Chinese New Year. It’s the year of the Black Water Dragon, 4709. Happy new year! Again.

Chamber of Commerce

On Friday, the business community gathered in its formal finery to install Chris Angelo, president and CEO of Stay Green Inc., as the incoming chairman of the board of the SCV Chamber of Commerce.

The event celebrated Dana Cop’s year as outgoing chairwoman with a 007 Monte Carlo theme.

Lenten Fish Fry
It’s only a month away. One of my favorite events of the year is the always exceptional Lenten Fish Fry at St. Clare Catholic Church in Canyon Country.

The fish fries begin on the Friday following Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday this year is Feb. 22, and the first fish fry will be Feb. 24.

The fish fries will continue for five additional Fridays, March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. in the Hall at St. Clare Catholic Church, 19606 Calla Way, Canyon Country. Yum!
