Steven and Julie Sturgeon, of Santa Clarita, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Nicole Sturgeon to James Jolicoeur, of Santa Clarita.
The bride-elect is the sister of Adam and Kristi, of Fontana. She is the granddaughter of Harold Sturgeon and of Maria Masciale, of Mission Hills.
The bride-elect was born and raised in the Santa Clarita Valley.
She attended Pinecrest, Sulphur Springs, La Mesa and is a 2003 graduate of Canyon High School.
Nicole received her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge in 2008
An avid soccer player and swimmer, she participated in both sports at Canyon High. She served as lifeguard and manager for the city of Santa Clarita for 10 years.
She is employed as a teacher in the William S. Hart Union High School District.
The groom-elect is the son of Terrence and Karen Jolicoeur of Covina and the brother of Shawn, of Ontario, and John, of Covina.
He is the grandson of Lou Jolicoeur, of La Puente, and James and Madeline Walker, of Covina.
The groom-elect is a 2005 graduate from Bishop Amat High School and received a baseball scholarship to attend California State University, Northridge. He received his bachelor’s degree from CSUN in 2009.
The engagement was announced at Robinson Ranch in August. The couple met in the spring of 2006. They were engaged on Feb. 17 on the beach in San Clemente when Jimmy, on bended knee asked the love of his life to marry him.
The couple plans a June 30 wedding in Maui, Hawaii with a California reception to follow on July 28.
