The community is invited to celebrate Chinese New Year during a celebration at the Santa Clarita Valley Chinese School on Sunday.

The free cultural and educational event is scheduled from 3-5 p.m. at the campus of the Albert Einstein Academy for Letters, Arts and Sciences in Valencia.

Local families will be able to learn about the upcoming Year of the Dragon through games, photos, music and food.
There will also be traditional musical instruments on display, along with Chinese calligraphy demonstrations and performances.

The Chinese Year of the Dragon starts on Monday, and Asian countries and people of Chinese descent across the globe will celebrate the new year with fireworks, dragon dances, lanterns and family feasts.
