Valencia High junior Alison Lee won the prestigious ANNIKA Invitational golf event on Monday in Reunion, Fla.

Lee, who did not golf in the Foothill League this past fall in order to concentrate on junior tournaments, shot three rounds of 71 to finish with a 3-under 213 - a four-stroke victory over French golfer Shannon Aubert.

Lee, a UCLA commit, competed against 71 other girls to win the American junior Golf Association event.
She has been runner-up in six AJGA events, including three invitationals.

This was a big recovery for Lee, whose last AJGA event - the 2011 Polo Golf Junior Classic - ended up in a tied for 44th finish.

She was quoted on AJGA.com as saying: "I played in my first Invitational when I was 13, so I've had a lot of chances. I've finished second many times and fifth a lot. The difference in winning and getting second place is just a whole new feeling. It really means a lot."

She is currently the third-ranked junior golfer in the country, according to the Polo Rankings.
