The Saugus and West Ranch high school girls soccer teams shot up the ESPNHS Powerade Fab 50 Girls’ Soccer Rankings again this week.
Saugus, which defeated Canyon and Hart last week, moved up six spots to No. 30 in the latest edition of the rankings.
The rankings include teams from the eight states which play girls soccer during the winter season: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada and Texas.
The Centurions (16-2-1) were No. 36 in last week’s edition.
West Ranch (9-1-3) moved up four spots from No. 37 to No. 33.
Both teams entered the rankings earlier this season after defeating perennial power Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, which was ranked No. 16 at the time.
Saugus defeated the Tologs 1-0 on Dec. 28, while the Wildcats won in penalty kicks after a 0-0 end to regulation later in the day.
Flintridge Sacred Heart currently sits at No. 34.
In their first games of the week, the Centurions defended their ranking by defeating Valencia 2-0 on Tuesday while the Wildcats tied Canyon 1-1.
Saugus and West Ranch will meet for the first time this season on Friday at Saugus at 3:15 p.m.
