After two losses in two tight games, all of a sudden The Master’s College men’s basketball had its back against the wall.

After building a lead as big as 18 points against National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics No. 16-ranked Westmont, TMC hung on late for a 64-60 win on Tuesday night in Santa Barbara.

With the victory, the Mustangs (13-5, 5-2 Golden State Athletic Conference) move into a four-way tie for first place in the conference with Concordia, Westmont and Point Loma Nazarene.

At the 12:15 mark of the second half, TMC led 46-28 before Westmont closed the gap and eventually tied the score at 60-60 with 38 seconds to play.

In their final two possessions, the Mustangs got two free throws from Anthony Cammon and two from Devin Dyer to seal it.
Cammon led his team with 17 points and Dyer ended up with 11 points, as did teammate Leif Karlberg.

The win was TMC’s third this season against an NAIA Division I ranked team, though the Mustangs themselves fell out of the top 25 after two losses last week.
