My goodness! I do not know when the writer has been to the library, but it is certainly a friendly place to be. There are always lots of people there whenever I visit, and the librarians and assistants are pleasant and helpful.
A library is not a bookstore. It is a nonprofit public service that is perfect just the way it is. It is perhaps the only service that is still free and can be used by all.
I am always amazed at the level of service libraries can provide with the funding coming from our taxes.
They certainly make a dollar stretch. The Valencia Library is a very well-run place with ever-expanding services to meet the needs of the community.
The Newhall Library needs updating because it is very small for the area that it serves, and it is the oldest library in our valley. It has earned some much-deserved attention.
In short, the Valencia Library is a wonderful, welcoming place for everyone who loves to read, and I for one am thankful it is there.
Book stores are nice, but libraries are nicer.
