The Centurions led 1-0 Thursday at home against the Indians, but setter Alyssa Terwall suffered a leg injury during the second game.

It was one of the turning points in the final regular season match for both teams, as Hart won, 19-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-23. The Centurions (20-5, 6-4) had already locked up the Foothill League's No. 3 seed in the CIF-Southern Section Girls Volleyball Tournament, which begins Tuesday.

"It was kind of a game-time decision whether or not to play her," said Saugus head coach Zach Ambrose said. "A playoff game wasn't on the line, so we decided to rest her."

In her first match as a setter for the Centurions, Taylor Schubert filled in for Terwall with 28 assists, 15 digs and four blocks. Hart (14-13, 5-5) finished fourth in league. The Indians are attempting to petition for an at-large bid in the CIF-SS tournament.

"It looks like we should be going," said Hart head coach Mary Keen. "We have a pretty good chance."

Jennie Long led the Hart hitters with 11 kills. Casey David finished with eight kills and 18 assists, Breena Beckett had seven kills and six blocks.

Indian senior hitter Jen Drake put away six kills and three blocks in her final regular season match for the team. Senior hitter Katie Estes wrapped up one of her final matches playing for Saugus, with 15 kills and 26 digs.
