Nubs Plastics Inc., a manufacturer and subcontractor of precision molded plastic components, is relocating from its Valencia headquarters to Vista and merging with existing subsidiary Progressive Molding Inc.

The company hopes to be operating at its new location by the second week of January, said Shardul Ramolia, president of Nubs Plastics.

Both family-run molding businesses, Ramolia has been running Nubs Plastics from a 10,296-square-foot building located in Valencia. His father, Niyogi Ramolia, has operated Progressive Molding Inc. in an 11,000-square-foot facility in San Marcos.

Nubs Plastics was launched in 1994, and in 2009, the company acquired Progressive Molding. By mid-2011, the decision was made to merge both operations. It was reported that the operations of both companies will operate solely under Nubs Plastics starting Jan. 1.

“We’re merging both companies and moving to Vista to take advantage of resources, employees, in the area,” said Ramolia.
Vista is located near Oceanside.

In late December, it was announced that Nubs Plastics leased 36,404 square feet of space in the Vista Business Park in a deal valued at $1.13 million.

The business engineers and develops safety, irrigation, consumer and medical products.
