The Santa Clarita Artists’ Association has a new art gallery located at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

A grand opening celebration, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and artists’ reception, was held Dec. 12 at the new gallery.

The 1,500-square-foot gallery is located at 25241 Town Center Drive, Suite 125, (next to The Pottery Barn), and opened for business in November.

Business hours are Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 9 p.m., and Sundays noon to 6 p.m.

“The finest works of our artists will be featured in the display area hoping to generate more visual interest from the community,” said Zony Gordon, president of the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association.

The exhibit currently has 120 pieces of art including sculptures and paintings on display, which will be rotated every six weeks.

Gordon said the new storefront is helping the Artists’ Association to achieve its goal of “making visual art visible in the Santa Clarita Valley.”

“We are so grateful for this spectacular location, which allows members of the Artists’ Association to showcase their artistic talents and provides the community with an opportunity to be exposed to art and learn about the process, history and benefits,” said Sandy Fisher, co-manager of the gallery.

The Artists’ Association showed its appreciation for the use of the space by presenting Westfield Valencia Town Center a Spirit of the Arts award for its support of the visual arts.

The grand opening event attracted more than 200 people.

Santa Clarita Art  Commissioners Michael Millar and Paul Strickland, Santa Clarita Mayor Marsha McLean, City Councilman Bob Kellar and other dignitaries were present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
