Cardinals come close, fall to Milken
A Heritage League championship was there for the taking Wednesday, but the Santa Clarita Christian girls volleyball team could not put Milken Community away in five sets in the regular season finale.

The Cardinals were ahead 2-0 and 25-24, staring match point in the face.

A hitting error led to a tie game, and the Wildcats capitalized to steal the win. The two teams finished 6-2 in league, and are in a three-way tie with Faith Baptist.

"We let up just a little bit," said Santa Clarita Christian Schools head coach Darcy Brown.

Kayley Morrison had 14 kills, six blocks and five aces. Karla Eberlein finished with nine kills, 10 blocks and two aces. Kristina Gibson had 15 kills.
