Wladyslaw and Zofia Sroka of Holyoke, Mass., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Joanna Sroka of Ludlow, Mass., to Brian Perl, of Saugus.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School and received a 2009 Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy — Boston. She is employed as a pharmacist at CVS/pharmacy.

The groom-elect is the son of Michael and Debra Perl of Saugus. He is a 2001 graduate of Saugus High School and received a 2009 Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy — Boston.

He is employed as a pharmacist at CVS/pharmacy.

The couple met in the fall of 2004 at pharmacy school in Boston and are both currently working as pharmacists at CVS/pharmacy in Western Massachusetts.

The couple became engaged on Oct. 4 at Randall’s Farm in Ludlow, Mass., where the groom-elect already had a pumpkin painted with the words “Will you marry me?” on it, placed in the pumpkin patch. When he took Joanna to pick out pumpkins for Halloween, they approached the special pumpkin and Brian proposed on the spot.

The couple plan a Sept. 8 wedding in Ludlow, Mass., where the couple currently resides.
