The Saugus Dance Team will host a dance clinic and festival on Saturday at the Saugus High gym.

The Saugus High School Dance Team will offer a special dance clinic on Saturday for grades K-12.

Organizers said the clinic is the perfect way to provide your child with an opportunity to explore and express themselves through the creative movement of dance. The Saugus High Dance Team is a six time National Award winning squad with 20 members that perform in competitions throughout the year.

The dance clinic will be held 3-7 p.m. at the Saugus High School Gym. The afternoon begins with each participant receiving a dance clinic T-shirt. A series of stretches and warm-ups starts the fun rolling, followed by instruction in technique and capped off with learning a dance routine that participants will perform for families and friends. Dance games, pizza and drinks, are also included in the donation fee of $30. All participants in the clinic will be invited to perform as a group in the annual Santa Clarita Festival of Dance produced by the Saugus High Dance Team, to be held on Saturday, Nov. 22.

A registration form is currently available on the team Web site at look for "Activities" and the listing for "Performing Arts" and click on "Dance", then click on "Documents" or call Mary Grcevic at (661) 297-3578.

Funds generated from the dance clinic provide support for competition entry fees, choreographers and coaches fees, props and equipment.

The Festival of Dance hosted by the Saugus High Dance Team will be held at the Hart High Auditorium 7 p.m. on Nov. 22. The event showcases talent from nearly all major dance studios in the Santa Clarita Valley. More than 250 participants are expected to perform in routines that showcase a variety of dance styles including Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet and Novelty.

Tickets are $15 for reserved seating with general admission costing $10 at presale and $13 at the door or call Karina Petersen at (661) 296-5678.
