Linda Harris, owner and president of Valencia-based Jorgensen HR, was recently appointed secretary to the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners.

"NAWBO does so much for women in business," Harris said. "It is a joy for me to serve on the board, help continue their work and inspire other women to pursue their professional and personal aspirations."

NAWBO represents interests of women entrepreneurs across all industries and speaks for 10.6 million women-owned businesses in America, according to information provided by Mellady Direct Marketing.

Jorgensen HR is an outsource human resources consulting firm that specializes in human resource outsourcing, investigations, training, compensation and affirmative actions plans, according to company's Web site.

Harris was installed on the board last month. She will serve a one-year term as secretary.
