The Princess Cruises Community Foundation has adopted 100 families from Single Mothers Outreach and will provide the families with gifts for the holidays at a reception on Saturday.

“Our employees had such an amazing time helping these families last year, they were thrilled we’re doing it again,” said Karen Candy, Princess Cruises manager of media relations.

Employees formed  teams and the Princess Cruises Community Foundation provided Target gift cards and the family’s holiday wish list to go shopping. Then, an expansive gift-wrapping room at Princess was set up where the teams wrapped presents for their families.

“Some of teams went above and beyond their Target gift card allotments and are providing families with bikes and even a refrigerator,” said Candy.

DaAnne Smith, executive director of Single Mothers Outreach, said Princess Cruises adopted 50 percent of the families that requested assistance for the holidays.
