County supervisors have authorized increases to construction contracts awarded for two roadwork projects in the Santa Clarita Valley.

The Board of Supervisors authorized an increase of $12,187.50 for a Stevenson Ranch project on Pico Canyon Road to reconstruct and resurface roadway pavement.

The project also requires replacing sidewalks, curbs and gutters.

Supervisors also approved a recommendation Tuesday to increase an Acton roadwork contract by $84,154.22.

The project involves widening a portion of Sierra Highway by removing reinforced concrete, installing temporary railing and doing additional grading.

Extra costs to each project were incurred after changes were made to the initial contracts.
