God established marriage

God himself created the institution of marriage in the book of Genesis.

Jesus defined both gender and marriage. “But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” (Mark 10:6-9)

The institution of marriage is used to explain the relationship of Christ and the church. John the Baptist said, “I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before Him. He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice.” (John 3:28b -29a)

“Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ... And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.’ There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:1-4 NKJV)

God created a perfect world that was broken when Adam and Eve sinned against him, allowing evil, sickness, death, and pain. The Bible explains God’s plan of a new earth using the institution of marriage.
We are also held responsible for children in our society. Jesus said, “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!” (Matthew 18:6-7)

God is love, merciful, faithful, and patient, but he is also holy, sovereign, all-knowing, just and all-powerful. He defines sin and the destiny of nations is in his hands.

My prayer is that all people would seek God’s face and find freedom from the bondage of sin. “But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29-31)

Jesus said, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ... Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:31b-36)

In the voting booth, before God, I will vote yes on Proposition 8.
