A warm sunny afternoon Sunday turned into some tense moments for a family traveling with a trailer that jackknifed on Highway 14, authorities said.

At 3 p.m., a white pickup truck towing a camper trailer southbound on Highway 14 jackknifed as it approached a transition road to the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, an officer of the California Highway Patrol confirmed.

The trailer reportedly crashed into the center divider and involved no other vehicles.

When CHP officers arrived, they found a GMC Yukon truck and a 25-foot trailer partially blocking the transition road to Interstate 5.

Three children were also seen standing on the right shoulder of the transition road between Highway 14 and the Interstate, CHP reported.

No one was injured in the single-vehicle crash, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

Traffic was re-routed briefly along The Old Road to Calgrove Boulevard.
