More than 400 guests of the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley and Single Mothers Outreach gathered to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal and free turkey giveaway Tuesday at the Sierra Vista Clubhouse of the Boys & Girls Club.

The annual charity event is hosted by the Santa Clarita Valley Auto Dealers Association.

“I can’t think of a better way to spend our money,” said Don Fleming, Auto Dealers Association president. “It’s a wonderful way to celebrate Thanksgiving.”

More than 70 turkeys were donated to the families by local businesses and individuals including Carl and Jeri Seratti Goldman of KHTS, Joe Messina of Wildcat Technology and attorney Jeff Hacker.

The food was served up by members of the Auto Dealers Association and the foundation board of the Boys & Girls Club.

“We really appreciate what the Auto Dealers Association does here,” said Jim Ventress, chief professional officer of the SCV Boys & Girls Club.

Greg Amsler, owner of Salt Creek Grille and Salt Creek Grille Catering said the meal included salad, rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans and turkey.

“It’s Thanksgiving. You give thanks for everything you have and help those who need help,” said Amsler.

A raffle was held for gift baskets and “Boxes of Love” donated by Valencia Hills Community Church.

“Our families look forward to this every year,” said DaAnne Smith, executive director of Single Mothers Outreach.
