The Santa Clarita Valley Teachers Association would like the public to know it has endorsed Hannah-Beth Jackson for the Senate seat in the 19th District.

Jackson, a former Santa Barbara prosecutor, college professor and legislator, has a long history of supporting teachers, parents and students in her district. She’s written and passed legislation that made schools safer, helped teachers who use their own money to buy classroom supplies and received many major honors for public service achievement, including the California Teacher’s Association Outstanding Public Official Award.

Jackson reached across party lines to meet local superintendents and educators in all five districts in the Santa Clarita Valley and from College of the Canyons at a recent gathering at the SCVTA offices.

The Santa Clarita Valley Teachers Association would like to remind everyone to vote on Tuesday and consider the support the entire educational community will receive from Hannah Beth-Jackson as our 19th District senator.

Other signees of this letter include:  Leslie Littman, President, Hart District Teachers Association;Carole Magnuson, President, Newhall Teachers Association; Joan Oxman, President, Saugus Teachers Association; Patty Fitzpatrick, President, Sulphur Springs District Teachers Association; Laura Terman, Executive Director, Santa Clarita Valley Teachers Association.
