Not enough evidence to try Vagos member

SAN BERNARDINO (AP) - A Southern California judge has dismissed criminal charges against Vagos biker club member, saying prosecutors don't have enough evidence to go to trial for possession of body armor and participation in a street gang.

Andrew Eloy Lozano of Fontana was arrested during an October raid that led to the arrests of 12 Vagos members in seven Southern California counties, the latest attempt to dismantle what authorities call a criminal enterprise.

The San Bernardino County Sun (http://bit.ly/rXH7dX ) says a judge ruled at Monday's conclusion of a preliminary hearing that there is insufficient evidence to order trial for the 35-year-old Lozano.

Lozano had been free on bail.

Investigators contend some Vagos members are involved in a violent drug distribution ring.
