The students from Hart High School’s award-winning marching band and color guard, Hart Regiment, recently gathered to bring joy to the Boys & Girls Club.
The student group created and donated a 4-foot tabletop tree, which will be on display at the Westfield Valencia Town Center and will go up for auction at the Festival of Trees benefit. Also included is a CD from Hart’s award-winning Wind Ensemble, an iPod Shuffle and iTunes gift card.
“We are so lucky to have a great music program in the Santa Clarita Valley at all grade levels,” Hart band member Garett Dahl said. “As a senior at Hart High I have had so much fun performing with my band mates and being a student of Mr. Anthony Bailey, who has taught us leadership both in and out of the classroom. We always rally as a team and this event to support the Boys & Girls Club seemed like a lot of fun and very worthwhile.”
Hart band member Lis Sorenson said, “Once we decided to decorate our tree with musical instruments, it all came together. It was so much fun decorating a tree in October. One of our color guard performers, Lauren Bollinger, put the gold scrap material from this season’s flags in glass bulbs to add a very delicate personal touch.”
