As I read the morning paper a few days ago, I was shocked at the story of a 14-year-old's suicide in our local school after much teasing by fellow students and nothing done about it.

In this era of civilization, why are such abuses still around (and of all places, in our educational system)?
Our children deserve better treatment and protection in our schools, and I think it is time we insisted on it by laws to control the perpetrators of these acts. Any child who treats another child in this way should be expelled from our public school system.

Parents need to be more aware of their children's behavior. We need to act and do this now before another tragedy.

There is a book called "Cupid's Arrow" being published about a persons being teased like this. It is great for parents to read. Also for anyone who is lonely.
