I am writing in support of Bruce Fortine for re-election to Seat 4 on the Santa Clarita Community College District Board of Trustees.

I am a professor and the Chair of the Biological Sciences Department at College of the Canyons and as a long-time employee and Santa Clarita Valley resident; I am proud to support Bruce.

Bruce Fortine’s contributions to the college and community are extensively backed by Bruce’s leadership and experience. Since its establishment in 1967, the college has become one of the fastest growing community colleges in the state, thanks to the remarkable leadership of our Chancellor Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook, supported by an exceptional Board of Trustees. And Bruce has been a fundamental component of such trajectory.

Under Fortine’s tenure the college passed two important bond measures that have catapulted the college to new dimensions. As a member of the Biological Sciences department, I am proud to be able to teach our students in state-of-the-art laboratory and lecture rooms equipped with the latest technology and equipment.

Fortine’s vision and his impressive community and business relationships have helped the college acquire its distinguished position. He is experienced, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. We need Fortine on the Santa Clarita Community College District Board of Trustees so that the college can continue to serve the community needs with a strong, solid leadership.
Fortine’s loyalty to COC cannot be ignored.

I urge your readers to support Fortine in the upcoming election.
