County fire officials received a $21,000 boost in funding from federal agencies this week.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a recommendation to accept $21,000 in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The funds are intended for use by the Consolidated Fire Protection District.

The money is expected to be split between services and supplies, which receives $5,000, and employee salaries and benefits, which receives $16,000.
