We should live and let live

Seems "Democrats" and others have something to learn about the "democratic process."

McCain/Palin bumper stickers ripped off cars. An epidemic of "hate crimes" in dozens of stolen and defaced "Yes on Proposition 8" yard signs throughout Newhall and Valencia.

Sheriff's officials recommend that signs be brought in at night. One-finger salutes, yelling, girls making out in front of young children holding "Yes on 8" signs. So much for "tolerance" and "hate."

I would never harass others in this manner, no matter how much I disagree with opposing views. Tolerance is a two-way street.

This is why, though Californians have supported expansive domestic partnership statutes for gays, and gay rights in general, to "live and let live," Proposition 8 is on the ballot.

Gay guerilla warfare continues: because of gay-rights group pressure, elementary-school children in Massachusetts are taught gay lifestyle values in mandatory diversity programs - and this will happen here in California.

Reference the L.A. Unified School District passing an anti-Prop. 8 resolution this month, and the California Teachers Association donating $1 million to the "No on Prop. 8" campaign.

In San Francisco this month, a first-grade class made a "surprise" field trip to their lesbian teacher's wedding to her partner.

Responsible parents everywhere are putting their foot down to keep gay activism out of the classroom and religious institutions.

We can put a stop to this - and leave in place the full rights gays already have and are guaranteed by California law - without giving gays the right to trample on education, parental and religious rights. Gays already have all the rights married couples do to adopt, contract, insure, inheritance and medical directives. Parents can teach their kids on their own timetable about a more tolerant, moral world.

"Live and let live." Yes on Proposition 8.
