Commuter traffic backed up this morning around the westbound lanes of Highway 126 just west of Interstate 5 when a big rig and a trash truck collided, according the California Highway Patrol.

Neither of the truck drivers was reportedly injured, said CHP Officer John Lutz

Shortly after 7 a.m., on lanes of Highway 126 wet with rain, a big rig truck flipped over colliding with a trash truck, Lutz confirmed.

Traffic on the highway remained jammed for more than an hour as CHP made efforts to have the trucks cleared from the collision site.

Cleanup crews were called to the scene for debris that ended up on the highway.
