The Bank of Santa Clarita held an open-house ceremony Thursday evening to celebrate the bank’s new headquarters on Magic Mountain Parkway, where it moved earlier this year.

Founded in 2004, the full-service community bank welcomed the public with food, drinks and music while giving tours of the bank.

Bank executives greeted the crowd, including Frank Di Tomaso, chairman of the board; James Hicken, president and CEO; Kimberly Altobello, executive vice president and Elizabeth Hopp, senior vice president and regional manager.

The SCV Chamber of Commerce was on hand to congratulate the bank, along with representatives for  Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon, R-Santa Clarita, state Sens. Tony Strickland and Sharon Runner, Assemblyman Cameron Smyth and a representative from Santa Clarita Mayor Marsha McLean’s offices.

“I’m proud to say the SCV Chamber of Commerce banks at the Bank of Santa Clarita,” said Terri Crain, CEO and president, as she presented officers with a certificate from the chamber.

The Bank of Santa Clarita is to be commended for all of its philanthropic contributions to the community, said Dave Perry, deputy for Supervisor Michael Antonovich.

After offers of congratulations, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was also held to officially celebrate the bank’s corner location on a highly traveled street. On hand to witness the ribbon cutting were board members Carl Kanowsky, Marlee Lauffer, Dwight Ham and more.

“We started on this process two years ago,” Hicken said. “We’ve always been a huge proponent of the SCV, but not always as visible as we are here at this location.”

“This location has given us tremendous visibility,” he said. “It has set us apart.”

Also speaking, Chairman of the Board Frank Di Tomaso said the bank  came across  the property, which had been sold, but fell out of escrow.

“We see this as a premium location for many, many years to come,” Di Tomaso said.

The Bank of Santa Clarita also has branch offices at Valley Center Drive on Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country, and at the office on Golden Valley Road in Santa Clarita.

There are several seating areas scattered throughout the bank where customers meet with bankers in a living-room setting.

The Bank of Santa Clarita prides itself on relationships with the people it serves. People don’t bank with institutions, they bank with people, Hicken said earlier in the year.

In an area set aside for customers, “Banking on Dreams” was painted in script across the wall.

The Bank of Santa Clarita is headquartered at 23780 Magic Mountain Parkway, Santa Clarita. It sits on the corner of Magic Mountain Parkway and Citrus Street.
