Why isn't the media nuts over ACORN

If anyone doubts that the drive-by media is 99 percent in the tank for socialism, Barack Obama's candidacy in particular, one has only to follow the unfolding voter registration scandal in states like Ohio, Florida and North Carolina.

The fraud perpetrated by ACORN in typical Chicago-style political fashion is so pervasive, so serious, and so under-reported (bordering on being condoned) by the mainstream media that Americans of all political persuasions should demand decisive action by the federal government and soundly condemn Mr. Obama's ACORN associations.

Instead, we get platitudes and promises that "we are looking into these allegations" by what is supposed to be one of democracy's guardians against the imposition of totalitarianism and loss of individual liberties (among them the right to a fair and honest vote): the media. If these overt attempts to throw the upcoming election were instigated by the National Rifle Association, Focus on the Family, Young Americans for Freedom or the Swiftboat Veterans, the media and their leftist accomplices would be in a frothing frenzy.

Their caterwauling would exceed even their cries of "We hate George Bush." The ACLU would accelerate to warp speed its legal maneuverings. But do we see similar rage against ACORN, Mr. Obama, or the complicit Left? No.

Why aren't people like George Soros and his ultra-left financing network, which includes donations to ACORN, being called out by the media?

The answer, I'm afraid, is as deplorable as it is simple: for the Left, the end (that of electing Barack Obama as president) justifies the means. Let's hope and pray that the right will win the day, in spite of the drive-by media sleeping at their posts.
