The second annual Santa Clarita Valley Harmony for Humanity concert will offer free admission on Sunday.

The concert is part of Daniel Pearl World Music Days.

The event will feature student musicians and special student theatrical and artistic performances.

Daniel Pearl was the Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Pakistan in early 2002, just four months after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The Daniel Pearl Foundation was formed in his memory to further the ideals that inspired Daniel’s life and work.

The foundation’s mission is to promote cross-cultural understanding through journalism, music, and innovative communications.

Academy of the Canyons student Kelsey Taylor learned about the Daniel Pearl Foundation and organized the first Harmony for Humanity concert last year.

Members of the Daniel Pearl Foundation are expected to attend.

Harmony for Humanity concert, 3 p.m. Sunday, United Methodist Church, 25718 McBean Parkway, Valencia. Info: (661) 297-1311.
